The HEAL Program by Raremark Foundation is a health systems initiative focused on improving the quality of care for individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) within health facilities.

It works by training health workers, strengthening emergency response, and equipping hospitals and clinics with essential tools and knowledge needed to properly manage sickle cell patients.

The program ensures that when a sickle cell warrior walks into a health center, they receive timely, informed, and compassionate care that can save lives and improve long-term outcomes.

Why It Matters

Better patient outcomes

Many sickle cell patients face challenges when seeking care, including delays in treatment, limited knowledge among health workers, and lack of essential supplies.

These challenges can lead to serious complications and preventable deaths. The HEAL Program addresses these gaps by improving how patients are managed at the point of care, helping to save lives and improve overall treatment outcomes.

How It Works

Training Health Workers

Providing practical knowledge and skills on sickle cell management, emergency care, and patient handling.

Supporting Health Facilities

Equipping selected facilities with essential tools, medicines, and resources needed for proper patient care.

Strengthening Partnerships

Working with hospitals, clinics, and other stakeholders to improve systems, referrals, and consistency in care.
