The Hope For Warriors Fund Program.

An initiative by Raremark Foundation, this program exists for one reason: to give Warriors living with Avascular Necrosis (AVN) a second chance at life again. The surgery is fully funded and offered specifically to Warriors who cannot afford the treatment, ensurng that financial limitations never block their path to recovery.

AVN is a painful condition where the blood supply to the bone is cut off, causing the bone, especially the hip to slowly collapse. It steals mobility, confidence, independence, and the freedom to dream. Many Warriors end up bedridden, forced out of school or work, and trapped in a cycle of pain they can’t escape.

The Hope for Warriors Fund steps in to break that cycle. Launched in September 2024, the program provides free, life-changing hip replacement surgeries and all the support Warriors need to reclaim their mobility, their dignity, and their futures.

Why It Matters

Bridging the care gap.

Many Warriors face immense financial challenges that limit access to life-saving treatments pain relief, hospital visits, medication. Our fund bridges this gap, reducing the burden on families and alleviating health inequities.

Restoring dignity & comfort.

With each support package, Warriors receive not just medical supplies, but also necessities like nutritious food, hygiene items, and prosthetics offering both care and compassion.

Empowering resilience.

Beyond crisis support, our fund invests in long-term well-being: mental health counseling, peer-support group facilitation, and emergency blood transfusion sponsorship.

Program Structure

The Hope for Warriors Fund operates through a clear, compassionate, and accountable process designed to ensure Warriors receive the highest-quality care at every step. The program entails four major stages:

1. Eligibility and Selection Process

Eligibility and selection is determined by orthopedic doctors at Mulago National Referral Hospital through medical screening. Raremark registers Warriors living with Avascular Necrosis (AVN), while the doctors make the final selection. Priority is given to those with medical urgency and socioeconomic vulnerability, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.

2. Pre-Surgery and Post-Surgery Rehabilitation

Pre-surgery support depends on the foundation’s financial capacity. When resources allow, Warriors receive full medical evaluations, X-rays, lab tests, counseling, and guidance to prepare emotionally and logistically for surgery. Post-surgery physiotherapy is also provided when possible; otherwise, beneficiaries receive essential rehabilitation supplies such as crutches and commodes
